A wonderiferous update for my new tanks:

Adam (or perhaps Eve - I'm hopeless at telling the sex of goldfish) is settling in well, although I couldn't find any elodea of decent quality, I'm going to give Thin Val another try.

I have the first batch of neons in my small tropical tank, and am also trialling Thin Val with them.

I'm still attempting to consider all of the logistics of transporting a 4-foot tank using public transport over what is nearly a 2-hour journey.

Cheers,
Alex

Gaaaah, scary!

Have you looked at Aquagreen for plants? Not sure they do elodea, but I've never heard anything but good comments about the quality of their plants and shrimp, so it could be worth a look if you get desperate

With the plants send Aquagreen a E/m he does not always have a full list of plants. I have had several orders from him and at the moment I am waiting for a particular Crypt to go on a bit more.

As for transporting a tank using public transport I dont think it would be worth the trouble that is if it was allowed to be done.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

I'd rather buy it from my LFS, give them a bit of business - so far, the Thin Val is going well.

Yeah; I'm actually considering just buying a new one, lol.

Cheers,
Alex

Further update for my new tanks:

Steve's doing well, and the val is doing so much better in both of the tanks than I expected it too.

Added another 10 neons to the convex aquarium, they have settled in well.

Still attempting the logistical calculations upon the tank transportation issue.

Cheers,
Alex

hey alex,i noticed your in aus too, when you say local public transport,do you mean train,or bus?where abouts are you in aus,MAYBE if your close i can borrow my mates van and chuck it in that for you.if it were me id pass on the public transport, the last thing you want to be doing is rushing, tring to bussel a 4 footer, onto public trasnport.i just feal as thow i wouldnt have enuff control of things,in a van,you can put plenty of things underneath the tank,TAKING YOUR SWEET TIME,then i throw a couple of tie downs over the tank, hook them to the hooks on the floor of the van, tighten them up!then i can take my time driving crefully avoiding big bumps, potholes and going fast around corners!also some guy driving a bus or train is not guna give a sh** about driving to keep your tank in 1 peace, hes thinking about keeping to the timetable to keep his boss off his  .anyway let me know MAYBE i can help you out.....

I'm in Hervey Bay, and the tank is in Gympie.

Francine (yeah, another name for the same Goldfish lol) is looking a little sickly, was fine yesterday, has all been in the past 10 hours. Not too sure, I think s/he may be having some problems with her/his swim-bladder.

Cheers,
Alex

Bugger. Oh well, thanks for your offer anyway.

No, not really. Its at my parent's house, so there isn't any real rush on it yet.

Cheers,
Alex

Steve passed this morning, I'm still rather unsure of the reason why. On a more positive note, the Val is doing splendidly in both tanks.

Thanks so much!

Cheers,
Alex
