My friend got a catfish at a store a long time ago and he has no idea what kind it is. It almost looks like a pleco and has spikes running down ist side. Any help? http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z33/cjwalker28/1209082024-03.jpg

ok so deff not a type of Megalodoras its a oxydoras niger and im about 99% sure they usealy have a very hard to see blue coloring muxed with the black..... u better have a huge tank i know some one with one that is 45 inches long.... they seem to not be affecting by "stunting" they will grow and grow till it breaks the glass on ur tank or breaks a seal on a acrylic(spelling is off) tank. these fish are truely a beautyful fish one of my favorites......

Just to show u that they dont get stunted easily the 45 incher was grown to 45 inches in a 180 gallon before getting move to a 15,000 gallon tank.
