Good day everyone, a couple of days ago, one of my two 5 year old Strawberry Tetra's fell ill, and sadly perished the next day. "The Brain" as we liked to call him was the one fish that kept the others in check and kept the equilibrium of this tank stabilized. Now, it seems that this old balance has disappeared and two of the Redeye Tetras are harassing the remaining Strawberry Tetra, and have taken over his "spot". I WON'T let this happen. Should I take the aggressor Redeye out? Or should I purchase some new Strawberry's... I'm really not sure what to do as it was just the two of them in this tank for 5 years, and was weary of creating an even more imbalanced pecking order... As of now, the 46g currently holds: 1 Strawberry Tetra, 5 Redeye Tetras, 8 Harlequin Rasboras and a Common Pleco. What should I do?!? The remaining Strawberry is our baby and the last half of the legacy, and I want to keep the best atmosphere for him as possible, given the fact that they've been through so much over the years and have come this far. Thanks for your time.

By adding more fish I dont think things will change. It looks like a change of the guard has started. You could remove the two aggressors and get several far mor passive fish and this would solve your problem.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Thanks keithgh. It looks as though I'll have to move the most aggressive Redeye into a world of madness: the Malawi Cichlid tank Do you have any suggestions for some good, hardy passive fish for the 46g tank?

Update: I moved the most aggressive Redeye to the Malawi tank, and he did just fine overnight. The Blue Dolphins and Electric Yellow's in there don't seem to care at all. As for the 46g, everything is fine except that was the first time I've used a net to chase down and catch a fish in many years in the tank, and they're quite afraid of me now
