DaMossMan Fish Guru Piranha Bait Posts: 2511 Kudos: 2117 Votes: 359 Registered: 16-Nov-2003 | On a positive note, it's day 3 with 2 new fishies. 2 albino longfin 'lace' bristlenose plecos ! I don't know yet if male/female. My friend Gail in the fish club has a breeding pair, so I might get more later ! They're still juvies, about an inch in size, gorgeous little fish and appear to be excellent quality and healthy. I've wanted this species for over a year I should have bought 6. Checked on them last night and one was grazing algae on the front glass, the other was napping upside down on the underside of the ozelot red sword. Cool ! On the negatice side, had an angel spawn too on Fri night, over 200 eggs. Gone by sat morning. I really have to get off my duff and change around the tanks so I can get their tankmates out of there The Amazon Nut... |

Just wondering, as I am still new at all this. Also - I agree that I would like to see pictures of the albino longfin bristlenose plecos. Much luck with them~ Bean "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |

And it it's Beck's pencilfish you're referring too, they are really cool. btw - Like Keith, I'm not sure what you mean by 'page for dots'. ? Jasonpisani - I'm not a 'tetra guy' but I can appreciate the visual impact a school can make in a plant tank. Have you seen ember tetras ? crusha - (and Keith) - Yup they are a lovely fish, and my camera batteries are now in the charger. I'll try to take some photos for you tomorrow but the parents are also visiting tomorrow. As soon as I can, I will, promise. Keith - hey buddy, long time no hear ! I just sent Gary some Egeria najas to try out Re: the other tank for breeding angels. I'll be re-homing other fish that are in with the angels. I'll be leaving the albino bn's in though, even though I'm told they go after eggs. More info coming. rjmcbean - It's a 40g 'breeder' tank. 36L x 18W x 15 H. stocking - 1 breeding pair of silver zebra angelfish, 6 juvenile gold pearlscale angelfish (parents taking them sunday I hope), at least 4 otocinclus catfish, 1 brown bn pleco, I think a male (also giving to parents), 3 guppy females, 5 platys, 1 purple brig snail, 'fancy' mts snails, 1 apisto agazzisi 'double red' female. It's heavier stocked then I want at the moment. Once my parents take their gold pearl angels and brown bn, I can start re-homing the fish. The livebearers will go into a 10. The apisto female into a 15 with another apisto pair to make a harem. I have to set up the 15 (filter already seeded) and figure where to put the 10. Thanks for wishing me luck, these are the first fish I've bought in awhile, and also the last I want to buy for awhile ! I hope they do well, they seem great so far and there's some green algae in there for them too. Pics coming The Amazon Nut... |
