Well I have been on these forums before but not for a while.

I currently have 2 four foot tanks setup.

Tank 1

It has numerous sword tails - breeding. Orange with a little black on there tails. Also a couple of bristlenose catfish as well. I have live foxtail in this tank only.

Tank 2

This is my main tank. It currently has 2 kissing gouramis. 1 is about 20cm big and the other is only 7-9 cm. I have 6 medium sized clown loaches and 3 yoyo loaches - 1 is so so fat. I also have 2 or 3 kuhli loaches as well. Some bristlenose cats, 4-6 neons, 1 white cloud, a male and female sword tail as well as some harliqiuns. I have live plants which I place a CO2 tablet in every few days or so to help them grow.

I am looking at getting a few more small fish to put into tank 2 - either more neons or some rummy nose.

I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.

Well hello to everyone else and I hope to learn more about this wonderful relaxing hobby.

Robert.

Welcome back!

I like the stocking in those tanks. If you want to add more fish to the second setup, I'd go with some more Neons since they would enjoy the company.

They are both 4 foot tanks. So 15in by 15in by 15in is tank one and 15in by 15in by 18in is the second tank.

Not sure on gallons tho. I think they are like 180 litre tanks.

Robert.

You said they are 15"x15"x15" and 15"15"x18", but you said they are 4 foot tanks, I'm confused. Those are 55L and 66L tanks. Which are they, 4 foot tanks or 15 inch tanks?

Even if it is a 4 foot tank, the Clown Loaches will get too big. I would suggest getting a bigger tank, like a 125 gallon, for them. If not, it would be best for the fish if you could find someone with a big enough tank for them.

the tank that is 15inx15inx4ft has a capacity of 177 litres or about 47 US gallons...

the other tank that is 15inx18inx4ft has a capacity of 212 litres or 56 US gallons...

i used the tank conversion and calculator on FP to find these pieces of data...

I don't know what the plants are called.

I will get the camera out and post them up. Just cleaned out the sword tail tank. Getting rid of the last of them to the LFS. They are in need of some more. So not sure what to do with that tank now.

Was thinking of going goldfish again.

How many would fit in the 15X15X4ft?? I was thinking of about 6 - 8 small ones with the option for them to grow???

Would they go oK with some sword tails still
???

it isnt recommended to mix cold and tropical fish, but i would say it would do ok...why no do some gold barbs of something? goldfish are just so damn messy it is hard to keep up with them... also you would need to up your maitenance rtoutine with goldies as they are messy and take up the bioload a whol lot and quickly... i love the fancy oranda, moor, ranchu, and other fancy goldfist instead of the "Feeder" ones that are not of any specific breed... if you do go goldies migh i suggest 3-5 small red-cap orandas (they are the ones with the little brain) they are really cute and easy to manage... plus they are a nice conversation peice!

welcome friend! sounds like you have a couple really nice tanks! I am in the process of setting up a new 10g tank I got for Christmas... I saw rummynose tetras for the first time live and I am hooked... so they are going in mine. I bet that the more of those you have together, the more dramatic their effect. So, I would vote for another handfull of rummynose tetras for your tank!

good luck, and post some pics!

First off Welcome to FP or is it Welcome Back? As to getting the pics to show up for that you need to get a Premium membership. (up above you see a drop down menu called site look in there.) Of all the websites I go to this is the only one that I have paid to be a part of and if my little bit of money can help keep it going so be it.

I too would love to see the full size tank pics, and Nice fish as well!
