Hey Guys,

I'm going on holidays next week for a week. I have no one to feed my fish while l'm gone either

Will my fish and plants be ok for one week with out feeding?

Should l have my lights off during this time too?

Cheers
Wayne

They should be fine without food for a week, just do a water change before you go and yes, leave the lights off.

Thanks for that reply.

If having the lights off for 7 days, will the plants be ok? All my lights are on timers.

If your lights are on timers then let them run normally.
I agree with doedogg that your fish will be fine for a week with no food.

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I have left my fish without food for a week before and they were fine. Just feed them like you normally would before you leave and they should be alright. What kind of timer do you have? I have been looking into getting one but I wasn't sure what to look for.

The timers l have are just some cheap HPM manual ones. paid $2.50AU for them at a hardware store.

Yes,
Leave your timers on, or you will come back home to very white fishes. The lack of light will take all of their colors away. It's non life threatening, but a little depressing. Fishes can go 2 weeks with no food.
