Simple remedy stop over feeding. It also could be the type of foods used causing constipation. In the wild I have seen some fish with their stomach practically bursting, also their mouths are crammed full and they still take a bait. The first time I noticed it, I thought one was going to explode, but it didn't. I don't overfeed, they over eat. Between them and the angels, I'm surprised the other tetras get any food! ![]() |

If we go away for a few days I will give them a good feeding on the morning we leave and carry out the normal feeding when we return and never a problem. If you are really worried just go a day or 2 without feeding them. Then slowly feed them again only what they will eat in a few minutes. If the food is gone right away you can always add alittle more which is much easier then removing to much and watching your fish explode. Just my thoughts. Live life to it's fullest |

I usually don't feed my fish on Saturdays as I clean my tank on Sunday morning and the fish will help do some of the cleaning when they are hunting for food Saturday. I then will begin my feeding again on Monday. I might drop in an Algae tab for the bottom feeders on Sunday night after the lights are out and it is gone by morning on Monday. It doesn't hurt the fish to go a day without food as in nature some fish go many more days without food. Live life to it's fullest |

When we go away for a few days (2) they never get fed either. When fish are imported I believe they are not fed for several days before shipment to avoid fouling in their carrier bags. If you have a big enough tank you could try getting a couple feedign rings. These are little rings that you can buy at a shop and they float on the top of the water. They are held in place with a suction cup. Place one on each side of the tank, this also helps keep the food from floating all over the tank. When you feed flakes just put the foos in the little circle. This should help the fish get fed alittle better. You could also try feeding some after the lights are out. Just a couple ideas that might help. Live life to it's fullest |
