In my 32g tank i have...
5 danios
6 cories
6 black neons
4 otos
1 small angel

I dont think it is overstocked but I have cloudy water and it just started this weekend when I added the angel and otos. I have tried Nutrafin Waste Control and it usually works for me and the tank looks amazingly clean. But recently i used it and the water is still a bit cloudy. Could this be from overfeeding? Should i try another water change (I just did one 2 days ago)?

The waste control is your problem, as well as the addition of the new fish.

The waste control if you read the label pretty much states that you're going to have a mini cycle, which is why they tell you to use ammonia neutralizing products. I'd suggest forgetting the waste control, and sticking with a regular maintence schedule that includes gravel vacs, and filter maintence. Not on the same day though of course .

Yeah, I hate adding chemicals to my tank. They never seem to do what they say (yes, I know there are exceptions), and often foul up the water. Regular gravel vacs and water changes are the best way to go.

I don't think that you are overstocked at all. In fact, I think you should add a couple of fish. At least one more danio would be great, as groups of six or more are always good for them. An extra black neon or two will help out the school's self esteem, and make them happier and braver. That will come in handy once that angel grows up.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Well besides the water conditioner and Cycle, thats the only chemical I put into the tank and it usually works really well. The tank is clearing up a bit and tomorrow I am going to do some maintainance. As for the danios, I did have 6 and 1 died. I think I am going to bring those back and get a school of cardinals or get about 6 more neons. I like cardinals better but they seem to be rare around here .

I agree it sounds like the Nutrafin Waste Control though I have never used it or any other product like it.

I also would not purchase any new fish until all this problem has cleared up and your tank has settled down. Then add any new fish slowly never too many togethere, as this can some times cause problems in some tanks.

I do a 10% water change weekly and a full maintaince every two months, which is water change and the Eheim Canister pull down and thoroughly clean it. I can not gravel clean as I only have a very small area that I can get to the rest is very heaverly planted.

It might take several water changes to clean it all up I suggest doing it every third or forth day and do the filter monthly or more often than you are doing now.

Get some readings on ammonia and nitrite If you don't have the test kits, i suggest you do. And, your LFS should do it for free.
