HI,

I had a quick question regarding stores in the US. Can I call them up and place and order using my credit card over the phone and will they deliver locally? I have a friend's mother who will be in the US for only 3 days and I was hoping I could find a local fish store that would deliver fish food to her hotel, is this possible.

Are there Big Als stores in San Francisco, CA. I know there are Pet Smarts.

Thanks,
Clowny

Is fish food really that much more expensive in India that you would want someone to bring you food from the US?

I doubt the PetsMart would actually let you purchase the food over the phone, but they would probably put it on hold so your friend could go to the store and buy it.

EDIT: Also, there are no Big Al's Stores in California. Big Al's is a Canadian company, and I believe they only have one or two stores in the US, both in in the east.

Probably wouldn't deliver. Possibly a smaller private owned fish store would if you described why someone can't pick it up and they weren't far away but big places and chain stores like petsmart won't.

I agree, i doubt you'd get them to deliver. Best bet would be to have the mom take a toolie over there with your money and buy up some loach food.

What's a toolie? Also, when they say on their website they will ship 24-48 hours since the order has been placed and it will take upto 4 working days to deliver, on what day latest can it get delivered if I order today?

toolie = ride, drive, trip etc.

If you ordered on the 22nd which is a friday, and give 48 hours to complete order, it would concievably be monday the 25th. Give 4 days for delivery, and it would be friday the 29th, latest.

If your ordering from the main site online I wonder if they will deliver to hotel rooms? Never thought about trying it but if something goes wrong and the package is delayed the same person would no longer be in the hotel and they might not have any way of finding them. It seems there would be other issues with it so if you find a way to make ordering online work I would double check with the shipping company first.

They have a lot of branches in San Francisco and if there's one really close to her hotel, I think I can impose this upon her, but not otherwise, since it's really more like a favour

She is leaving the US on the 29th of September so I am freaking out about whether she will get the package or not. If not, I guess, some FP fellow will just have fish rejoicing over all the food that I order

*wonders whether to order or not*

Perhaps someone could send you some? I'd be willing to send you a pack. We could work out some sort of payment i'm sure.

Send me a PM if your friend's mum doesnt end up getting any for you.

Hopefully, The care package that Tim sends you will go DIRECTLY to you and not detour through New Jersey! I am sure the food will be no good by then.
