Anyone have suggestions or comments on the ones I'm considering? Tank #1: freshwater 29 g standard 72-75 deg. F mildly hard (city tap) pH~ somewhat alkaline (probably 7.5, maybe 8) no salt planted large gravel bottom standard filter (no UGF) lighting lots of caves wc 1/week Currently houses: about 10 danios, including zebra, pearl, and leopard one female bristlenose pleco (2.5-3 in.) Ideas: Tetras (about 6): neon, flame, black line, silver tips, or lemon Barbs: tiger or tic tac toe Corydoras: whatever my LFS has in stock Cichlids: kribensis (p. pulcher), acara (l. curviceps or l. dorsigera) Gouramis: c. lalia, m. opercularis, t. chuna, or t. leerii Tank #2 freshwater 5.5 g aquarium/ terrarium terrarium half includes large gravel (no dirt) and a stand of bamboo aquarium half includes a few g of water and aquatic plants mildly hard (city tap) pH~ somewhat alkaline (probably 7.5, maybe 8) no salt no heater, no lights (yet) currently no fish Ideas: ?? white cloud minnows? ghost shrimp some kind of small turtle? ScottF Fish Addict Addiction Hurts!! Posts: 542 Kudos: 330 Votes: 355 Registered: 28-May-2007 | the Tiger barbs would go great with the danios, and maybe a handful of corys for the bottom... Just watch what else you put in there if you do Tiger Barbs, as they are nippy and very active.. The Gourami might not be a good idea with Tiger Barbs. I have dwarf neon rainbows, white cloud mountain minnows and rummynose tetras with my tiger barbs, they all do well together in a 20g. Make sure you get at least 6 tigers ro they will harrass the other fish ceaselessly. As for the aquarium/terrarium deal... a nice male betta might go good in the aquarium side, with a couple snails or ghost shrimp... |

BlackNeonFerret Enthusiast Posts: 281 Kudos: 137 Votes: 30 Registered: 18-Jan-2006 | I think you usually have to watch out for long flowing fins with nippy fish like barbs, but i don't think that they'd be a problem with corys. None of our more aggressive fish have ever gone for our corys. |
