As some of you know I have a 40G Long planted tank.

This is my currant stock:
9 Dwarf Neon Rainbows
5 Brillian Rasboras
4 Otos
3 Guppies (Can be removed easy)
2 Skunk Loaches
1 Flying Fox
1 Clown pleco

I would like to add a pair of dwarf cichlids and maybe a couple more Rasboras. Bad idea?

Go for it. Thats a nice sized tank and I would say you've got some room at the moment.

I personally would remove the guppies and increase the school of Dwarf Neon Rainbows.

What plants and any other features do you have in tha tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

My 40G from a couple of months ago

I really need to post a new picture of it but I haven't been able to barrow my friends cammera in a while.

The tank looks pretty much the same but much more grown in.

I am quie happy with my school of rainbows right now. I would really like to up my number of rasboras though because they hang so close together. Maybe up it to 10 and add in a pair of dwarf cichlids.

Guppys I can hook my friend up with. Not a biggie...

i would oust the guppies add 3 or so rasboras and the dwarf cichlids seem like an okay idea.

it seems as though you've got alot of bottom dwellers, i think that would look pretty good with the decent size schools mid-tank, especially with a long tank, it seems they're harder to fill out for me. it seems like all the fish in my 55 are in one spot of the tank!

good luck!

All the rainbows and rasboras are all over the place. Normaly mid to top. Trust me I don't have a problem seeing fish in my tank all the time. The fish I don't see all the time though are my Otos, Pleco and Loaches. They seem to hide a bit more.
