OZ Clinton![]() Small Fry Posts: 10 Kudos: 12 Votes: 1 Registered: 29-Sep-2004 ![]() | Hi there I have gone a little fish crazy over the last 3 weeks and now have the following stock: 12 x Hockey Stick Tetra 6 x Cherry Barb (2m 4f) 6 x Siamese Flying Foxes 1 x Gold Gourami Now, my question is - Can my 55g handle 1 additional pair of Golden Ram? The tank is heavily planted and has CO2 injection |

IMO, I'd get rid of them all (maybe keep one), as they lose their usefulness once they reach maturity (hair algae cmsumer--one of few), and will start chasing other fish around. THEN I'd add the rams. Otherwise, I'd advise against it. Besides, SFFs produce a great deal of waste and are very active, therefore, you're pretty much at your stocking limit. |

[link=http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/]http://www.thekrib.com/Fish/Algae-Eaters/" style="COLOR: #004040[/link] If they are actually flying foxes or anything else besides SAE's I would recommend you take them back. They will eventually stop eating algae and bicker and kill other fish. Your tank is very similar to mine actually. I also have a 55g planted. The only difference is that it is not yet CO2'd and I dont have a gourami. I have a pair of bolivian rams in the tank. I believe your golden ram idea would work well.![]() Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes. |
