Tank Cleaning | |
micah'smommy Small Fry Posts: 2 Kudos: 1 Votes: 0 Registered: 30-Dec-2007 | Hi All! I'm new to the forum, but wanted to ask this question. How can I clean a used tank that will be used for mollies and guppies? The tank was housed in an area containing 3 cats, so cat hair is all over everything. Please respond quickly as my fish are waiting to be introduced to their new habitat. |

If it has been in a dry location for a while and it has been used previously even if it does not leak straight away it will in the near future. Many will say just reseal it but this never works for the long term. If you do decide to go ahead and use the tank do you fully understand the cycling process as this can take several weeks. Personally I would get a new tank with a guarantee as this would be the best in the long term. Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info Look here for my Betta 11Gal Desktop & Placidity 5ft Community Tank Photos Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. The tank has only been sitting for roughly 3 months, but I will still check it for leaks. No, the fish are not waiting in bags. They are still in their birthing habitat though, so I'm worried they may get eaten by the larger fish-if that sort of thing does occur. The male(s) have been removed, but I'm not sure if the female(s) and the older siblings have been relocated or not. |

(especially if it is a 10gallon tank as they are cheap and plenty!) \\\\\\\"an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure\\\\\\\" |
