Has anyone put fishing lures into their tank? I'm referring to the fishing lures that look like fish, plastic etc. Will they harm your fish-obviously the hooks will be removed.

Thanks, brian

I wouldn't think anything would be wrong with that. Just make sure there are no metal peices on them, that would probably be most important. Good luck

i had a small bobber in my aquarium with a small plstic worm on the end of the line. i never used a metal hook, i was affraid it would hurt my fish. lures are ok, if there are no hooks on it.

some of the el-cheapo rubber fish lures have metal inside them to make them semi-rigid. that may rust over time. just use common sense when selecting the lure and you should be fine.

As a fisherman and a owner of many may be too many lures. They are designed to catch fish and there is no reason to make them of special materials, paints, and finishes suitable for fish tanks. Yet I have seen lures in huge tanks 20ft+ for demonstration purposes with fish. But these lures could have been prepared specially for that purpose but I dought it.
