Not that I have shares in tetra products or anything, and i instinctively distrust product testamonials etc, in fact I positively loathe them, but seeing as I just had to evacuate my fish to my mothers house just over a week ago because of bad floods and the journey to get them there took several hours, I decided , once they were newly set up to use tetra safestart to give them a fighting chance of survival. This was 150 fish, 450 gallons of water, and 3 aquaria. Setup time was over four hours, all the filters had been offline for more than that.

Result, 2 fish died in transit , the others all made it. And the readings over the week? Not a flicker. Not the tiniest divergence from normal , namely ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 30 ppm. All fish alive and well, not a single sign of nitrite or ammonia poisoning, or even respiration difficulty and dare I say ,they look HAPPY?

Granted it took 6 bottles, which wasnt cheap, but unequivocably, it worked! In fact it saved my butt. The results it gave me were to say the least impressive, and by far the best ive ever seen from a cycling product. Not so much as the tiniest spike was monitored. Incidentally tetrabalance and nitrateminus are also being used , and , in the absence of drinking quality water, which will be absent for two weeks to come, these products are the only things keeping half my fish collection alive.

Just thought you guys should know, seeing as sorting the wheat from the chaff with cycling products is a serious business that lives depend on, and if anyone from tetra ever hits this site- thats a big thanks from me! Thanks too to cli, jay, hayley and jeff who helped with the muscle breaking efforts to get all the fish out of 5 feet of floodwater over fields and flooded roads to safety.

Oh gawd, saved by a corporate, i'll never live it down

Now its just getting all the fish back to my place when the drinking water comes back on, but thats a story for another day....and I might wait until I can pick up more than 2lb in weight with my right arm without screaming.

I would say not only Tetra saved your fish but a lot of experience, knowledge, also what, when and how to use it. Congratulations LHG.

Wow Git!! I can honestly say I would have had NO idea what to do in that situation!

I will have to keep this in mind in case of emergency!

Well done!

Have you seen where the Fire Brigade have adopted a goldfish they found swimming in the floodwater. As it was going down, they saw it and scooped it up.

Glad your fish made it. Moving them in an emergency is one of my nightmares. Last time I did it, I lost an angelfish and the trip was only 10 mins

Rather heartwarming too , is a news report I heard recently that dozens of people in worcester ( a town about 50 miles from me) have rallied to the aid of thousands of fish stranded in local racecourses and parks as the floodwater recedes, and are returning them to the rivers and lakes whence they came. This, it should be noted, is being done by many people who's homes have been flooded out, have little in the way of drinking water themselves, and must be physically exhausted from dealing with the floods generally.

Its about the only thing this year ive heard that makes me proud to be british.

Raise a glass to the goodly people of worcester ! Unsung fishy heroes, god bless em , one and all!
