Has anyone seen these sold in the store? I was wondering if my fish would like to eat a couple of these or not. I have a Blue Gourami who likes to devour shrimp, so he might like to eat these things too, I just don't want them to hurt him.

Triops are cannibalistic. Once they have any size there will only be a couple left. Your fish should like them though. It was an interesting experience growing the triops, but I probably wont do it again.

Awww, Triops as food?

LoL, Triops are way too awesome to use as fish food, but as for actual usage as fish food, they are not one of the best ideas. Their helmet, which gives them the alternative name "Helmet Shrimp", may be harder to digest than just normal old Brine Shrimp. I don't how much the difficulty of digestion could be a danger, but it could be...

That would be pretty expensive live food... I wouldn't do it.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

Well, I wouldn't necessarily do it because I need to feed my fish. I would do it because I enjoy watching him eat live food and he seems so much happier when he is ripping something apart.
I might just stick to feeding him shrimp and enjoy the triops in their own right.
