i've moved my planted tank from a 50G (US) to a 72gallon US.

now my 50G is bare apart from neons and a dwarf gourami keeping the filter and tank cycled.

i want rock setup to contrast with my planted setup.
but i can't decided on what fish to keep. not having amrine yet, due to time and cost issues.

i have come up with some ideas which would you choose.

a 50g wouldnt make a good brackish because most attractive brackish fish, such as monos, scats, and puffers, grow too big for a 50g.

A 50G with rocks in?

Tanganyikans. However, I have some different Tangs in mind from the usual run. Chances are they'll be hideously expensive if you can find them, but they are SO worth the expense!

Paracyprichromis nigripinnis]http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/Paracyprichromis/nigripinnis-01.jpg[/link] is one of two drop dead gorgeous Tanganyikans worth looking out for. The other one is [link=Benthochromis tricoti. I suspect you'll have to blow a month's salary to acquire these guys, but tell me - don't your eyes pop out on stalks when you see them?

There are plenty of fish that are ten times better than monos, scats, and puffers that can live in a 50 gallon tank. You just have to know where to look.
