hey guys,i was at my lfs today,and my guy has just got in a tank of small longtoms.he was trying to sell me 1 to put in with my arrowana.
ive never had 1 of these fellas,i was just wondering if you guys have had one b4.
if youve kept them b4,what are they like.
ill probly pass on 1,ive red they can hit 1.2 meters.
plus the pics i seen of them on the net,the set of teeth these fellas get,makes them look mean as hell.
im not sure exactly what kind of longtom they were,they were all silver in colour.
but yeah one bad lookin fish,i hate for one of these guys to latch onto your hand...ouch!

its definatly a no with ur aro he will probly snap it in half........ my 6 inch oscar "broke" a 13 incher in half........ dont think its a good idea as oscars arnt even that mean lol....... with jars ur gona wanna stick to bottem feeders......

If I am correct I have caught and seen several of these things. One actually jumped into the boat while we were motoring along and not slow at that either.

Take a good look at its teeth that will give you the answer.

oh yeah im not guna get one,i just wanted to here from someone who has one,or has had one.
there teeth would do the job for sure.
yeah im guna stick to just 1 catfish with the aro.

cool yea i have had a few i got one to hit about 20 inches long but later got eaten by a silver aro...... all the others where around a foot long but cool fish to watch eat!!!!!

yeah i was thinking that when i was looking at them in the tank at my lfs.it would be cool to watch them chop down a fish.
speaking of feeding,when i was at dads b4,i watched my arrow gulp down a pinkie.
he swollows them whole now,he,he.

haha nice dude i use to feed mine 5 inch cons all the time!

yeah at the rate my fella is growing,now that i think about it,the poor longtom,despite his teeth,will get hammered.
perhaps when im done with my aro,one day ill get a longtom,but for now ill pass.

i have to admit,longtoms,gars,arrowanas,snakeheads,i love all them fish.
its a shame they cant all mix with no probs.
think of all of them cruzing around together....
