Hey all,

Just yesterday I acquired two of my friend's unwanted fish. My problem is that I have no idea what the heck they are. Unfortunately I can't post a pic (I'm not a premium member) so I'll do my best to describe them:

Bottom Dwelling (at least at the moment)
Upturned Mouth
Freshwater (though this may be brackish, however they have survived for 2 years in straight fresh)
Dark and light grey markings (dark horizontal stripe)
Occasionally partly transparent
The ability to alter the shade of their markings (when one goes in the cave, it comes out really dark and black)
About 8-10cm long (incl. tail fin)

I have used the fish identifier on FishProfiles.com, though that could only point me to http://www.fishprofiles.com/profiles/fw/profile.asp?id=Pseudaphritis+urvilli. The only problem with this fish, is that its eyes are more on the top of its head, whereas my fish have them more on the sides. Could this be something that develops later in its life?

Any help would me greatly appreciated.

Can you put a pic on the net and then provide a link or just the web address? Identification would be alot more accurate.

No, the mouth is not a sucking disc. Also, there is a short dorsal fin, followed by a longer one (much the same as a Tupong found in the initial link)

I will take a photo once I can get loan of a digital camera and have read a bit on how to take good photos.
