Breeding BNs, 6SAE could be more. Eheim Pro11, UGF 3 risers. and Full planted mainly Anubias. I have tried Platies but all died water just too soft. I am looking for a smaller colourful top to middle level schooling fish. Any ideas please Keith Near enough is not good enough, therefore good enough is not near enough, and only your best will do. Danios would be another option for smaller fish. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

Dwarf Neon Rainbows are also relatively common and are smaller than the other rainbows. I also often see a few other rainbow species, but I don't really pay attention to what species they are. Many species are worth investigating and are colorful in their own right. Most of the Melanotaenia or Glossolepis species are medium to large-sized schoolers. I admittedly haven't kept any of the rainbows so I don't have any biases towards any particular species, they all seem like nice fish to me! There are, of course, very small rainbowfish and their kin, such as the featherfin rainbow, the Celebes rainbow, Pseudomugil species, and others. While these are very colorful, I would worry that their small sizes and particular demands may make them less good candidates for your aquarium. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |
