I have been wondering for a while now, and thought I would Ask you guys.

What do you do with your Quarantine tank when not using it for it's primary purpose?

I honestly have no idea what to do with it. So I thought you guys might give me some ideas.

Thanks

Hi,
Generally a QT tank is a completely set up aquarium.
Usually around 20 or so gallons so it will comfortably
house a school or shoal of medium small fish all at once.
It should be planted and have places for the shy fish to
hide and yet still be seen when counting them to be sure
none have died on you. Usually a QT tank will house a
couple of permanent residents to maintain the Nitrogen
Cycle. I like to use guppies or platies to maintain the
cycle.

Hospital tanks, on the other hand should be bare tanks,
with no gravel or at the most a layer of gravel only
one or two grains thick.
Ideally, they would be 10 gallon tanks as
the adjustments for the correct amount of medications is
more easily divided by 10 than say 35 or 29.
Hospital tanks should be torn down and sterilized between
uses.

I use mine to grow plants, and to house my betta, when there is a visitor he moves to the 10, or 55 gallon tank for as long as the fish are in there or an extra week after that if it was a sickness.
