I was thinking of adding a notched overturned flowerpot if I get some Bolivian rams. Would I have to do anything to it to prepare it? I did this with a rock, first I soaked it in a water:bleach mixture twice for 3 hours, then I soaked it overnight in water with tons of dechlorinator. No problems have arisen, the rock has Java Moss rubber banded to it.

I assume it's just one of those clay pots. If so, then no, you don't have to do anything. I just rinse my flowerpots and put'em in.

If it is a new clean pot follow the suggestions given by metagon. On the other hand if it has been used or laying around the garden etc dont even think about putting it into a tank, the main reason the pot could contain many nasties. Also if it is a painted pot dont use that either.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

When I get new clay pots I usually boil them for 5-10 minutes in dechlor water just to make sure they are clean.
