I bet you use the same syphon hose for that tank as the others.

If you only have one tank there could be several answers.
To start with they had to be imported they just did not get there.

I once imported them with some substrate I bought apparently it had a few eggs in the gravel
With any water put into the tank. Several years ago every time I ran a bath the bottom of the bath was covered in very small snails & their shells.

If you have other tanks just think about any thing you use nets, etc these are excellent transporters of eggs or very small snails.

Now next question do you want to get rid of them completely? There are several very good snail eating fish around but it will depend on the size and what else is in the tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

Or you can use a product called "Had-A-Snail". Not a popular choice with alot of hobbiest, but it will get rid of the snails. I fyou do choose to use it than read and follow the directions cafefully

OK OK I just figured it out. I do use the same syphon, but the other tank dosn't have snails!! or so I thought . I did have some live plants in my other tank about a year ago, but never saw snail in that one because they probably got gobbled up THEN the SYPHON DID IT!!! IT must have transferred some snails to the second tank but here they are NOT getting gobbled up there HA...CASE CLOSED Thanks guys!!
