I've not had much luck with zucchini surprisingly. I feed cucumber, broccoli, peas, tomato, lettuce, and spinach.

i leave it in til is eaten, they start with the soft areas, and end with the hard areas, so it doesnt get messy. I have adequate filtration and fish that love it tho, so just keep an eye on yours

Yes veggies are ok in moderation, I find the bottom feeders like plecs enjoy it more.

EDIT: Just remember not to leave it in for too long

I've only tried zucchini and the only fish that notice it are the Gouramis. Which just nibble at it occasionally.

So fresh veggies are ok to give, in moderation? I never even thought of that. I have just been feeding the traditional flakes and some shrimp pellets, occasionally some algae wafers.

Watermelon doesn't have a chance to sink to the bottom of my tank before being swarmed over. I feed it as an occasional treat. I've also had good luck with tomato and lettuce.

mine dont care much for carrot or tomato, but do enjoy apple, zucchini, lettuce, chinese veggies, and the odd bit of cooked prawn.. although thats not a veggie, but the 'algae eaters' still went for it.

For food It's fresh food for fish that like to eat vegetables. I don't like zucchini, but I know some people and fish do.
