I dont know if there is too much minerals in the water or she needs RO or what... but hp/temp/ammonia/hardness is all good every thing its fine.. the pet store has this thing if they die on you you can bring water samples and see whats wrong and the pet store says its fine.. good water.. but they keep dying on her... any ideas? maybe copper in her pipes..thanks

There could be many answers.
Have a look at these.

Feed within 12 hrs of introducing new fish to tank.

Feeding straight after water changes.

Not introducing the fish correctly to the tank.

Too long a time from shop to home tank.

A recent one I was told about. After some people buy them as soon as they get outside the shop hold the bag up to the sunlight and look at the fish. ( a very reliable importer told me this one)

How about this one : The place she buys fish from - --- is it the same place each time? Is it local, meaning is your aunt and the fish store on the same water supply? Does she float the bag of fish in the tank so that the temperature of the water in the bag slowly is brought to the temperature of the tank? How about opening the top of the bag and adding a small amount of tank water to the bag, a few ounces at a time over the course of a couple hours or so?

Try this:

Bag up some tank water and have it tested for Ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, ph, kh, and gh. Write down the numbers and post it here.

Have the lfs test their tank water and write down the numbers and post it here.

and the pet store says its fine.. good water

Get the numbers for us. Pet stores aren't the best judge of what is "good" at times. Also, does your aunt have a thermometer and a heater for the tank? If so, what is the temperature and how much does it change during the course of 24 hours?

What size tank and what fish are in there now?

Could the food source possibly be contaminated? Is is stored by any cleaning products? Is she possibly over feeding? Does she have good filtration? Is the tank heated? What type of fish is she buying? Has she had ANY fish survive?
If she has another lfs close by, I would suggest she take her water to a different place to be tested.... And perhaps, after it's tested, purchase one fish from that store....
So sorry to hear about your aunt's dilemma.... I'm sure she's becoming quite discouraged.....

Jake asked the question...
What size tank?
What filtration?
Is the tank cycled?
What is the temp. at?
What kinds of fish is she buying?
What type of food is she feeding?

Sorry for the questions but it could be anything.

Not introducing the fish correctly to the tank.

I wouldn't believe LFS about water parameters unless they are trusted
