There are associations, world wide, that deal with the
husbandry of these stunning fish. Here are some:

If you're thinking of annual killifishes that lay eggs adapted to survive periods of dessication, then there's a LOT of species to choose from.

The two big groups are the Cynolebias and allies from South America, and the Nothobranchius from East Africa. Your problem with these fishes is the territorial pugnacity of the males, so once gender differences start to become apparent, you'll need space to segregate them. Additionally, it's a good idea to have multiple females per male if possible, because the males can be rough on the females, particularly at breeding time.

Be advised that the incubation time for different species can vary enormously. In the case of some of the South American Cynolebias, you're looking at about 12 weeks. With Nothobranchius rachovii, you're looking at a whopping 7 months!

If you're looking for something unusual, then you could try Austrofundulus dolichopterus, but be advised that this fish not only has a 4-5 month incubation period for its eggs, but demanding requirements with respect to water chemistry. Take this beautiful and unusual fish on only if you know what you're doing, because it's a fairly tough one to keep alive.
