	Adding sand
Theaustralian Fish Addict Posts: 583 Kudos: 101 Votes: 0 Registered: 11-Sep-2002	Im adding another layer to my DSB of aragonite sand and im not sure weather i should was the sand first (Apart from take out large pieces of material). I've heard that the silt from the sand can be beneficial o the sand bed is this true? thanks ~Scott

dthurs Ultimate Fish Guru Posts: 4340 Kudos: 4170 Votes: 529 Registered: 18-Feb-2003	If you wish to wash it, put some in a bowl and slowly run water in to it while swerling the bowl around, this will get the fines to flow out. Otherwise, just ad it to the tank. Fill a bowl with sand, add water from the tank, then slowly sink the bowl to the bottom of the tank and slowly turn it over. Dan
