You have a very new tank there and a brown algae problem at this stage of the game is fairly common. Diatoms if I'm not mistakin. May I inquire about the specifics of your tank other than size:
Number of fish?
Filteration type/size?
Protien Skimmer?
Live Rock Amount?
Lighting?
Test results ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?
Any information helps.

Yes, brown algae is a part in the cycle of a new SW set up. SW setups can take as long as several months to completely cycle.

Remember the three most important things when it comes to setting up and keeping up a SW tank; Patience, Patience, and Patience. Oh, did I mention Patience? If you rush it, you will be sorry. If you take your time and go very slowly, you will be very satisfied in the end.

It's perfectly normal. Just give it some time and it will clear up.

After the tank cycles start adding your cleanup crew such as turbo snails which love all algae including brown algae. The brown algae will also nearly stop growing after your tank cycles. With the snails to help you shouldn't see it again unless you mess with the tank too much. When I moved my tank from 1 side of the room to the other and had to remove half the rocks for the move the brown algae came back for a month.
