Use RO/DI water, use a phosphate sponge, get a lawnmower blennie, get a algea eating sea slug, get a yellow tang, small hermit crabs, emerald crabs, snails. All these will do some part in removing it. If you have large amounts of hair algea, you will need to actually remove it by hand.

Well...in what size tank???

If you want to go with algae eating fish/inverts, the lawnmower blenny and yellow tang would be your best bet. The blenny stays smaller; I wouldn't keep the yellow tang in anything smaller than a 75 gallon personally.

Is the algae on the rocks or on the glass?

If it's on the glass you could always try one of the algae magnets. Depending on what size tank once again...the mag float does better in smaller tanks, and [link=these]http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_maintenance_algae_magnet_cleaners.asp?CartId=" style="COLOR: #3c4e82[/link] wooden ones do better in bigger tanks. I know Nate has a funny story about his.

Good Luck

What size tank?

What are your water parameters?

Lighting cycle?

How old are the light bulbs?

How old is the tank?

What water are you using....tap, ro, ro/di?

What is your stocking?

Feeding schedule?

How often are you doing water changes?

There are alot of variables that can cause algae...We really need alot more info on your tank in order to try to understand why you are having the algae problems.

Also, what type of algae is it that you are wanting to get rid of?
