Was gonna ask you guys if you knew anything about a "Starry Moray Eel"??

Went to this pet store and they had him in a tiny cage labled "Black and White" -- thats all. He's really pretty, and I felt sorry for him. Now that I have the 200g salty up, I figured he could get a bigger, better home.

First thing he did was try to bite my large Damsel, but the fish smacked him in the face with his tail. Then he tried to chomp on my Psychadelic Goby, but a fish net to the dome stopped that. Next he took a nip at the shark, who turned around really fast and inadvertantly smacked the eel with his tail.

Now he's under this rock and peeking out, but the large damsel goes over there every five min. and whacks him with his tail to shove him back under. Im not afraid for the eel or really any of the fish -- he hasnt tried to eat any of the smaller damsels.

But.. what do I feed him?! Google has been no help, and it took me an hour just to put a name to him. No one seems to know anything about this eel!

First thing is try some frozen or freeze dried krill. This should work. Another option is squid.

Because the shark is used to eating frozen shrimp and such, I tried that last night. I dont think the eel was at all interested in it. The damsels in my tank are just big enough to not quite fit in his mouth (though I wouldnt care if he ate them) so I am not sure he'll go for them. Would be easier if he did...

Krill and silversides.

That's what ours at work eat.

Some eels take months to start accepting foods when moved to a new home.

He might take to ghost shrimp.

Used a flavor enhancer like Kent Garlix Xtreme to entice him to eat also.
