I have a fish only with live rock system of 57g, I already have a pair of Maroon Clowns and the female is about 8 cm big. Recently my friend has to go overseas for a long time and decided to give up his tank. He didn't want to sell his fish to shops but to give fish to friends that he trusts. He offered me a pair Ocellaris Clowns and I took them...they were in good health, size and colour..I couldn't resist...

And now the trouble comes...my female Maroon don't like them...chasing...beating them up. Now I just place the Ocellaris into a breeding trap just to prevent them getting killed....so..any suggestions or tricks to me so that I can make them live together peacefully? or just marginally peaceful will be good enough.....

In my opinion, you will not get them to get along. The maroon will kill the perculas. Sorry.

I agree - introducing 2 new clowns to a tank with already an establish clown is a recipe for disaster. The only possibility you have is to really move around the rocks (Especially the original clown identified territory) and hope that things settle after a few days but in my experience unless they are a mated pair clowns do not get on in groups!

They will not live together. It is fairly common knowledge that you should never keep more than 1 pair of clowns in a tank because they cannot tolerate the sight of other clownfish. This is something possible in much larger tanks(Say 300+ gallons) but in a small tank like yours visual contact cannot be avoided. The maroon will kill the percula. My advice is to get it out of there, because realistically it has no chance.

Is is because the Maroon's are the most aggressive Clowns? My friend have the exact same tank, but he has a pair of Ocellaris and Tomato as well as a single Maroon...his seems fine...they dun chase each other even they are in direct contact. So does it mean other clowns other than the angry Maroons have a pretty good chance on living together even in a smaller tank?

And will the presence of an Anemone helps?

It has a lot to do with who was there first.

Its the nature of any clown, they generally dont get along with any other clown, whether it be Maroon an Ocellarais or Percula and Skunk. Clowns don't like to be around other clowns

An anenome wont help either, although it could keep them more confined to one side of the tank, but they would likely still contact each other.

IF what you say about your friends tank is true, then his clowns are the exception, not the rule

alright...I have no other choice now, all my tanks has clowns already, so I just have to bring them to the shop and see if I can trade for something...

btw..how about tangs? can tangs in different family live along? For example a Hippo tang and a Yellow tang

Some times yes. It helps if both are introduced to teh tank at teh same time. And if the tank is big. With a blue tang I would suggest a tank over 100gals, and even that will be a bit small for a blue.
