![]() | Death in my tank |
tibba![]() Small Fry Posts: 3 Kudos: 4 Votes: 1 Registered: 07-Mar-2005 ![]() ![]() | I've setup a marine tank, the tank is 4 months old and currently has a skunk clownfish, blue tang, banana wrasse, hermit crab, 3 turbo snails, a red starfish, and a caramel sea cucumber. It also housed a green manderin and a cromis (spelling), over the weekend these two fish died! The chemical levels in the tank are fine, ammonia almost no-existant, no nitrite, saltinity's fine. I'm looking for help as to what could have killed my fish! |

One likely possibilty for the Mandarin death is starvation, as they often cannot get the food they need in tanks without 120-150 pounds of live rock. They are incredibly hardy fish, and nearly resistant to most parasites and diseases due to their unique slime coat, they cannot survive if they do not have nutrients though. |

That sifh should have only been put in a well established tank. I would also keep a very close eye on the blue tang. They do not do well in new tanks and should be only kept in tanks that are around a year old. Dan Dan |
