On some other forums i have read some pretty bad stores about people getting bitten/infected by various nasties in their tank. I was just wondering how many people wear gloves. Why or why not?

I wear them when I'm messing around with the liverock.. I found out rather early that I'm pretty sensitive to getting stung by bristleworms..

As far as I'm concerned the water in the tanks should be clean enough for me to handle if it's clean enough for the fish. I wouldn't think there's anything on my hands that will bother the fish either.

However, I don't put my hands into the tank if I've just washed the dishes or am wearing nailpolish.

I don't, but I probably should. I've always thought of getting a pair of shoulder length gloves for the Reef tank, but I never do. I just wash my hands before putting them in the tank.

FW, I don't care. I just stick my arm in.

i never wore glove, looking back im not sure if gloves can help with my species of fish. i had two red bellied piranhas and the one thought my nuckle was a piece of food. i got that piranha for $20 because he took a chunck out of a guys finger and wanted to get rid of it. he warned me how the fish was, i guess i had to find out for myself.

Nope, he didn't get hit by anything. He had a cut on his thumb before he started to work in the tank. He got a bacterial infection from something in the tank. I've seen similar photos as well from people getting similar things.
