hi guys, im looking into getting my 5x2x2 settup as a FO only tank with 2 lions & Maybe a tuskfish however i might drop it as i may be pushing it once they all get big.

my question is, can some one point me to a website that has pictures of FO settups ? or even better if u have a settup like this & can show me some pictures.

im very curius to see how this settup may look like without any LR, but with a thin layer of substrate.

thanks guys.

I had a FO tank for a while, but it ended up becoming a FOWLR, then a reef. I have no more pictures of it, but it did look nice. You can get fake corals as decorations, and even make it look like a reef with out any live rock. The fake stuff looks very real.

hi dan, thanks for that.
iv been searching online but cant seem to find any pics of a settup without any LR.

so i tihnk im going to go with maybe 1-2 LARGE bits of LR as a centerpiece sorta thing. & have the rest open swiming area for the lions.

where can u get the fake corals/rocks from ? if they cost nearly as much as the real thing then id just get the real stuff lol.

cheers

Live rock provides biological filteration for your tank, so it's a big help. Adding a large HOB filter with a biowheel will help if you don't have a lot of live rock.

I've seen fake corals at the larger fish stores. Another option is dead coral heads.

Also, a sand bottom of between 2 and 3 inches deep will be a big help for your tank. It will help keep the nitrAtes down.
