By Flippin Brissle worms, there are every where at feeding time. They come out of every rock crawl over coral and one of them is massive.

I used to have a canny few copepods until the worm population got out of control.

Is there anyway of reducing there numbers??

Yep, coral banded shrimp eat them. I have also heard of some putting shrimp in a nylon stocking, then placing it in the tank. The worm will get tangled up in it and you can remove it.

an excess population of bristle worms indicates overfeeding....they only reproduce to handle the food available to them. Slow down on your feeding, and the quantity you are feeding and the population will go down.

Will boxer shrimps be okay in a 50g tank with a cleaner shrimp, mushroom coral and star fish?

A small boxer shrimp will be OK, but a larger one may go after your cleaner shrimp. CBS can be teritorial.

why not just lower your feeding? Adding another animal that is not guaranteed to eat them will only raise the load/waste....granted not by much but still.

Not feeding so much and lowering their food source is the easiest way and the cheapest way.....plus the better way for the tank.
