This afternoon I finally get to go to the LFS in Burnaby to restock my 44 gallon FOWLR. It's been running empty for about 6 months now with just a couple of snails (considering there's only two of them, they're keeping things in there nearly SPOTLESS) and I'm going to add the following: One gold banded maroon clownfish, three or more blue legged hermit crabs (I love them, but my last ones died of old age I think... they were 2 years old) and MAYBE a firefish if they have one.

I'm so excited! I did all the maintanence last night, and the nitrates are below 5ppm (yippee!).

I want to get a good, venturi driven skimmer for my tank. I used to have a seaclone 100, but I hated it, it constantly spilled microbubbles into the tank and leaked a fair bit. Can anyone recommend a nice, inexpensive, skimmer for my tank? It needs to hang off the back as I have no sump.

Also... If I get the above fish (clown and firefish) would I, in a couple of months, be able to add either a coral beauty angelfish or a couple of chromis (I'm thinking green or clown)? I used to have five fish in the tank.

Thank you, and if I get a chance I'll post photos tonight!

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

That clown will get rather large, and they can be some what agressive. But they are very nice to look at.

I know they get larger, but I'm hoping that by having only a couple of fish in there, he'll be ok.

I ended up getting a coral beauty angelfish and a firefish instead; there were no gold banded maroon clowns at either of the good saltwater LFS's around, only the regular maroon clowns. If the angel ever comes out of hiding I'll post a photo.
