Hey all,
Hope this one won't go ignored too (). I need your feedback and support in the Aquascaping contest in order for me to include them in the contest. I'd love to include SW as I think it's a great way to share experience and ideas...however ...yes we need entries .

I'm currently working on dividing up the Aquascaping catagories. Lately there has been a push for simply FW, SW and Theme tanks. I need everyones opinion for the as yet unannounced contest.

As much as I would like to keep it simple, reef tanks, and FOWLR tanks look very different. I reef is much nicer looking as far as color, etc. But FOWLR tanks can have soem very interesting looking fish. 1 area is better, but 2 may be needed to get non reef tanks entered.

I'll enter once I get my tank set up. It's going to be a few more weeks though, as I'm broke and equipment isn't very cheap. :%)

I don't feel that there are enough members that are willing to enter their saltwater tank pictures to support two seperate catagories.. Even with all of us falling under the "marine" catagory for the old contest, there were rarely more than 3 or 4 entries.. As I recall, there was only one entry for the marine catagory during the last aquascaping contest??

I just dont think there are enough salties to support two catagories right now. Sure they are vastly different environments, but I think one will do for now.

Agreed that very few entered before. But how many FOWLR and FO tanks are out there that were not willing to go up agenst a reef. I have a FOWLR and a reef, so could enter both contests. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try both, and if no interest is shown, then cut it back to one. Not everyone has a reef.

I'm still looking for SW judges, if your willing to help out I'd love for you to send me a PM thru the board (I'd rather you not post here as I don't want any judges being swayed by frag pieces in the mail ).

I understand that many FOWLR tanks may not be willing to go against a reef, I'm urging them to enter ...if it's FO I don't really see that it should be entering an aquascaping contest, if so someone needs to explain it to me ( I'm a freshie after all ).

I actually will enter once I have the money to turn my brackish tank into an SW tank and decorate it well, but I think one category is fine.

if it's FO I don't really see that it should be entering an aquascaping contest, if so someone needs to explain it to me ( I'm a freshie after all ).

Babs......FO just means that there are no inverts or live rock. They can still have other fake coral decorations, plants/algae, fake plants/algae, etc.

T'anks DRO....I was having trouble immagining a tank with only fish in it ...like I said...I'm a freshie.
