Just wanted to let those interested (and you know who you are ) that I managed to pick myself up a sweet new tank- 48x18x24 which is supposedly 89.78 gallons- but hey, I'm going to call it a 90 !!!

I remember asking about my current 60 gallon tall tank (48x12.5x24) suitability for reefkeeping, and there was a little concern that the narrow width would possibly cause trouble with rock placement and water circulation, so I am thrilled to be trading it in for this one!!

As an added bonus, although it is definately built for use as an aquarium the only thing this tank has ever had in it was a python that was only in it for 6 weeks before he had to go and live at the local museum of Natural History, so there has never been any fish in it with any kind of disease, and definately no copper!! has ever been used in it!!

Tonight is such a good night...

Lisa

YAY LISA!!!

Now you're about as far along as me!!! *giggles*

I've had my tank since Christmas.

Right now...it houses the incredibly rare...dustbunny.

Actually I'm making progress too. I ordered over $200 worth of marine equipment off of MarineDepot this week.

Aren't new tanks fun?

*doesn't mention how discouraged she is with her own tank atm*

Thank you, thank you...

Now all I have to do is get rid of the 60, build a stand for this new one (I guess snakes don't need stands ) and get saving for those lights!!

Should only take me another 6 months or so right??

Right??

Are dustbunnies really that rare??

:88)

Yes Lisa. Dustbunnies are VERY rare.

The kind I'm keeping at least.

Good luck with the whole stand building thing...

Well yours shouldn't be so hard because it's not a confusing bowfront like mine. (Dont get me wrong, I love the look of my bowfront, but it's causing/has caused multiple problems...) My dad was going to build mine, then decided "screw it" and bought one instead.

I'm doing a happy dance too... Getting a package in everyday this week, spent lotsa money on tank stuff online.

Lets see, so far, a master test kit has come, a calcium test kit (and boy does it look confusing, Nate I still dont believe it's easy ) two 250 watt heaters, a Mag12 and another book.

What else is coming...hmm, 'nother heater, a 150 watt one for the holding container (which I'm also picking up this week) a python...five 50lb bags of sand. And hopefully *crosses fingers* my lights and skimmer will arrive by next week.

Lifes good.

*does the happy dance with you*
