People are generally happy with the live rock from their. It does have a tendancy to have critters that are less desirable though. Lots of pistol shrimp and nasty crabs.

It tends to be much more expensive than regular LR because it is shipped IN water, which adds significant weight, which in turn adds cost.

I like to buy my LR from the LFS so I can pick out the exact pieces I want. Also it's going for 3.99/lb right now. I guess if the price was good I would buy from online if I needed 40 pounds+ especially for base rock. http://www.liveaquaria.com has a good deal on 45lbs of fiji rock at $99.00 plus $1.19/lb shipping for 2nd day air.

There are any number of places you can order live rock. Personally I wouldn't buy from the LFS, it seems to be a lot more expensive. If you need a small hand picked piece for soemthing in particular it would be the best option, but if your started your tank I think online is the way to go.

I actually bought my rock from a person who was breaking down their tank, they had purchased it from Premium Aquatics though.

I'd check out ReefCentrals sponsors list, almost any place on there will have LR for sale. You can find whatever is closet to you or find whatever you think will be best for your tank. There should be 15+ places you can order LR...of course not all will be good.
