The other night I was having a brain fit, and started wondering, how exactly would you bag a puffer fish? If they get startled, or feel in danger don't they "poof" up like porcupines? Wouldn't that put holes in the bag? Bag drains, no water left...Or am I just out of my mind? I don't really know how the LFS would do, hopefully with several. But I know online sellers will pack certain fish with as many as 7 dags or so. Just in case.

BeastKeeper Big Fish Posts: 444 Kudos: 389 Votes: 47 Registered: 27-Apr-2004	most plecos and goldfish have spines including catfish. im sure the person selling the fish will double even triple or more to be on the safe side. so with a puffer it would be the same but wouldnt think no more then 4 bags. if a puffer can poke through four bags then it would best to put it in a styrofoam(spelling) cooler plus bags.

DarkRealm Overlord Moderator metal-R-us Posts: 5962 Kudos: 2166 Registered: 23-Sep-2002	I would always grab an empty salt bucket and fill it up half way with tank water. Use a specimen container to get the puffer out and then send the new owner home with the fish in the bucket.
