Im going away with my parents for a week and im going to get my neighbours to check on my fish everyday and drop in some brine shrimp every other day to keep them eating so they dont leave, and im also going to put some mesh on top so if they decide to jump theyll fall back down into the tank.

"and I'm going to put some mesh on top"

Your tank isn't covered? No class canopy, or hood, or anything?

Hope everybody makes it...

The part I'm most worried about with my new tank on the way is having people watch it while I'm on vacation, as I go often. In fact, I'm home for less than a week for the entire month of July. Yipes...with my FW it never mattered much, but this reef is a different story...

So they wont leave? where are they gunna go? anyway i suggest an autofeeder, but you could only stock stock dried foods, maybe some freeze dried. and get a light timer if you dont already have one.

Your tank can go several days without food. Give them a good feeding when you leave, and again when you get back. If more then 3 or 4 days, then have some one watch the tank.

i got back and my fish are all fine and i almost freaked out cause i couldnt find my angel, but i found it behind the rock work, as my hermit destroyed most of it.

The tank is half covered with a glass lid, as i do not have a sump yet i have the protein skimmer in there.

i got them to feed my fish every 2 days, with a little bit of flakes.

A reef aquarium CAN go months without being fed or taken care of. I would suggest a time of no more than 2 weeks if you are not feeding though, because you really won't know how long your tank can go until everything dies.
