a new arrived spotfin lion got one eye a bit cloudy..just a bit not up to the stage where the eye covered with white..mm...just not sharp as the other eye...

I have noticed a lot of new arrived lions got this kinda cloudy eye especailly the Radiata's..is that an indication of disease or it is a sign of stress?

can anything be done for them?

It could be a bit of stress, or possibly high ammonia. Does this clear up in a few days?

I just realised what's going on...I actually purchsed a sick fish...(a spotfin lion)

it's got one cloudy eye, tail rot and the area around the tail is swollen up with pale colouration. also the scales are evenly "sticking up", not flat against the body

I have checked my ammonia, nitrite and they are both zero. It's a newly cycled tank but I did check for the completeion of the cycle by getting zero ammonia and nitrite and a low reading 10ppm of nitrate

I put some "Waterlife Myxazin" in the tank already...other than that what else can I do?

I can't seem to find any of my notes, and soem of the sites I have saved are not working. So I may not be completely correct in this. I seems to me this is called pine coning, or something like that. And I seem to remember it's a infection. Some kind of antibiotic should work. But you really need to check with someone else to make sure.
