You could pick up the new mags. This will help you get up to speed on new technoligy. Also, welcome to fish profiles.

Welcome to FishProfiles smallfry

I'm sort of confused as to what you're asking...are you trying to get back into the hobby, and set up a new tank? If so, I have a lot of recommendations for books. An article I wrote at the top of this forum has several suggestions I think, and lots of helpful websites too.

Like Dan said, magazines would probably be best if you're looking for the technological updates. There will be lots of reviews and ads that will prolly help you out. Get a subscription to the English version of the German magazine Koralle.

As for books? Reef Invertebrates by Anthony Calfo and Robbert Fenner is a must read IMO. The humor that they write with makes the book fun to read, yet jam packed with juicy information at the same time. It's amazing. Another Calfo book that I swear by is his book of Coral Propagation. You always find something new no matter how many times you read that book! As for reference guides and ID books, I really like Scott W. Michaels the best.

I have a few by Alf Nilsen and a few by Julian Sprung and a few other random ones that I haven't read cover to cover, because the ones I already mentioned are my favorites.

Nathan, DRO on this site, has read and has many more years of literature than I, he may be able to help you further.
