Good beginner species, they will readily accept all foods. Tank raised species usually fare best and although prices for tank raised species tend to be higher than wild caught, they have much higher survival records. If you wish to get an anemone for your clown, it is best to try and find one that has already hosted with an anemone, trying to pick an anemone at a later date, even if the anemone purchased is the best possible host species, will not guarantee that the clown with take to the anemone. Prefer rocky environments, usually found cohabitating with a host anemone, although not essential in captive systems. Clowns are usual prey for many other fish and should not be kept in tanks with Eels, Scorpionfish, Lionfish, Hawfish, Snappers, Groupers and Lizardfish. Reef safe

the clown fish wont work. read last sentence. You need a fish too big or aggressive for the lionfish to eat or one that can hide from it.

A lionfish will attempt to eat anything that he thinks can go in his mouth.

Marc, ACIDRAIN, has a nice collection of lionfish. Send him a PM, I'm sure he'll share some info with you.

Anemones should only be put in to stable tanks that have been up for a long time. Also, your tank will not be big enough for one that a clown will host with. Most get VERY large, and need good lighting.

No, but a good amount of current helps bring food in to it.

Clowns are definately the way to go . I have a pair, without an anenome and they seem to be very content.
