How large is the shrimp? I would find it hard to belive it could completely eat a fish without you seeing it. My guess is it's hiding. Some times fish can hid really good. I've heard of people loosign a fish for a month, buying a new fish to replace it, only to have it come out of hiding.

Check behind your tank. I give you and 85% chance the Wrasse jumped from the tank.

They are good at hitting even the smallest hole.

I doubt that the shrimp can eat whole fish like that...I have the same combo as you do and have no problem with it...it should be just hiding some where

yea the cleaner wrasse is prolly just hiding, i'll check the back tho jsut in case he got out..i hope he shows up soon tho cuz i want to get a 6 line wrasse if the cleaner wrasse is gone but if hes still there and i get another wrasse there will be some bad teritorial problems right? i thought 2 wrasses cant be kept together but im not entierly sure, do u guys no if 2 wrasses (6 line and cleaner) can be kept together?...thx

o and the shrimp is small, like 2.5 inchs from back to his 2 large claws..the only reason i thoguht he cud of done something to the wrasse is because i read at this other forum that coral banded shrimp should not be kept with triggers, and WRASSES.

There are larger wrasses which cannot be kept with shrimp. A small wrasse like a cleaner wrasse, or the fiary wrasses would have no problem with them. The larger ones eat shrimp.

generally no problem, but there are always exceptional cases...I have a twin spot hogfish (a fairy wrasse looking fish)which every books saids it's peaceful and ok with any other small wrasse...but it killed my first cleaner wrasse and eaten half its body....and now it's attacking my smaller clown fish.....there are always fishes that are out of their normal mind.....

What kind of cleaning crew do you have? If your fish died, from natural causes or otherwise, more than just the coral banded shrimp would have eaten it. A good cleaning crew can dispose of a large fish in a matter of hours. Keep a lookout for a little while longer and as previously stated make sure he didn't go carpet surfing. I always look for a fish for at least a month if I can't find a body. That way I don't replace a fish I didn't need to. Good luck.
