a lfs has a already established marine tank and is selling it for $85. its a ECLIPSE 6 and comes with some fish as well.
-Maiden goby
-mandarin goby
-yellowtail damsel
-domino damsel
-jelly fish

i know these fish dont fit but is this a good price?
what size tank will be needed?

The mandrin goby really needs a very large tank, over 100 gals with a LOT of live rock. The damsels do fine in smaller tanks, but are rather aggressive. A jellyfish, depending on the type do not do well in tanks, with the exception of the upsidedown jelly fish. That one needs a large sandy bottom. So again, a large tank is needed.

I'd stop shoping at any LFS selling that setup. Very irresponsible.

I must agree with the poor fish choices for such a small tank. But as for the price, that tank new in the box is about the same price. So you would have to decide what the difference is price wise, to have the same set up with fish that will go with the tank.

the lfs was actual a reptile store but the owner has a growing passion for marine tanks. ive knon him for a year and has given me great deals on snakes and monitors. i have an empty 35usglong that use to house tropicals. so besides the mandiran goby could i have everybody else in the 35 and add more?

One thing to keep in mind, damsels are the cheepest SW fish. Most of the time going for about $4 each. So if all your getting is the fish, then the price should be VERY low.

What is all included in that price? I only saw about $60 worth of fish.

The $85 is buying him the fish, and the tank they are in. Probably not a bad deal, but doesn't make sense if he just wants the fish. Unless he uses the tank for somthing else after he releases them from the tank too small for them.

IMO none of the fish will live long in that size tank. As the Damsels will reach 5+ inches.

the blue damsel will stay below 5 inch....right?

just go ahead if you believe that owner of lfs is a good aquarist (it means you can go back to him and ask questions and complain if u need to) and if he is offering a good deal
