hello all,
as most of you know im a SW noob setting up a tank. i have 2 more questions to ask and an update on my status. form the topic title i wanted to know if i need an air pump and air stone setup? i am lookin into buying live sand online but i dont know if live sand dies.. does it? also how could i look at the sand tell if its live or not?

You do not need an air pump and stone in a SW tank. And live sand is not really alive. It has benificial bacteria as well as other critters, such as worms, and pods. These can die, but will recover fast with the addition of live rock. Bags of live sand last for a long time on the shelf.
