They do get pretty big, and are rrrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllly active. Even if they were the only ones in there I'd say it was overstocked just because of the swimming space they would need. ^_^ ![]() |

I don't know if the moonlight would be too big for your tank, but at a max of 6 inches (looked at their profile) it may make the tank look pretty small. I have never kept them or seen them though...so I am not sure. |

I would not get two kribs unless you went with two males, the females get moody and a pair (M/F) get really aggressive. I adore my lone female (thus the name) and she doesn't seem to mind being the only krib in the tank at all. Make sure that you start adding fish from least aggressive (pandas, bn etc) to most aggressive (krib), tigers will leave the pandas and bn alone as long as the cats were there first and the krib will also leave the other fish alone as long as they were there before her. Give the fish plenty of time to establish territories in between adding each batch, and make sure you have plenty of hiding spots for the pandas and the krib. When the pandas feel secure and brave they will be visible at any time of the day, mine only took a few weeks to stop hiding and now they are always out in the open. I think a large school of barbs and a large school of pandas will do quite fine with the krib as the centerpiece fish, you will have room then for the BN or the pictus as well, or otos for algae destruction, a small army of them work wonders at keeping algae controlled./:' "If you're afraid you'll make a mistake, you won't make anything." -Family Circus |

I am now leaning towards a Krib as a centerpiece. Girlie: i like the large school idea, but i thought Rummynoses were only to be looked after by experienced aquariests and blah blah blah. Also, my PH is slightly Alkaline, unless you add Bogwood, then it is brought down to nuetral. I do not want to muck around with cemicals to change my PH So, stocking so far: DEFINATLY 1 BN 10 Panda Corydoras PROBABLY 1 Female Krib NOT SURE ON-NEED HELP School of fish. Either about 10 Tiger Barbs, 15 Harlies, 20 Rummies... HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! Any issues with the current stocking???? Thanks BNF ![]() |

You just have to get a good batch of them. They have problems with transport and many of them die because of this. They get really stressed and this also is due to the facts of how they are bred in certain places. If you can get them from a LFS that has had them for atleast a week, then you should be ok. If you acclimate them for a while they should do fine. I got 6 from a LFS and only lost 1. Then I ordered some from a LFS and picked them up right after the delivery and I lost all 6 I ordered. If you don't want to go through the trouble of finding a good batch of rummies, then go with Harlies. They are beautiful and school great. I am going to put some in a 38g tank i will be setting up shortly. If you want a type of tetra that would be better up against the tiger barbs...go with Lemons. They are also beautiful and more boisterous than other tetras so they could hold up the the barbs. They are also hardy, so you wouldn't have to worry about losing them. |

The only LFS near me that stocks them are 1 hour away from my home. I like the Lemon idea. Either them or Harlies. So: 1 BN 10 Panda Corys 1 Female Krib 10 Harlies/Lemon Tetras/ Tiger Barbs 10 Harlies/Lemon Tetras/ Tiger Barbs What do you think? Thanks guys BNF |

I could see this work it you would drop one of the mid level schools (Rasboras or Lemons). I also think that the bottom would be a little crowded with 10 medium sized cories and a larger BN. And the Angel might work, but really should have a bigger home. Just my opinion, Ingo ![]() |

In that case I guess it will have high visibility, right? So I would even go back to step one and rethink if a 29G is all you can afford (financially and / or space wise). I am sure a 55G would look very nice in a living room ![]() It would give you way more options on fish. Or how about a 40G Long (almost as good, or, depending who you ask, even better than the 55G)? Are you planning on planting the tank (real plants) ? Ingo ![]() |

(36" x 12" x 16" ![]() But, then again, what are the dimensions of a 55???? And the 40 Long???? I always go with the biggest tank i can. I would definatly like one a lot bigger than my 15! I am definatly going to plant the tank with real plants. At least 50% real anyway. I would like to come up with a stocking scheme for a 30, 40 long and 55, so that on my next birthday, when i have the money, i can buy the biggest, and then not have to spend ages about thinking, but i really wanted this fish, and i can't fit it now... I would really like a nice, interesting tank, with lots of colour and activity. Mainly because my brother is a bit annoyed, as we might have to move the TV a couple of feet to the right, horror!(in case people haven't guessed, i am being sarcastic) Thanks for the replys, very much appreciated. |

If you could set up a 55 for say, $400, it would be a lot more expensive in England. If i got a 55, THEN could i have an Angel????? ![]() I am also very keen on Platys. Any suggestions? If i got the 40 long/55/ possibly 30, i would really like 1+ Angel as a centrepiece. They would also have to be pretty 'confident' fish. That is to say, they wont mind having a cat staring at them all the time thinking "What on earth are the funny things over there?" ![]() I am going to try and come up with three stocking schemes (for 30, 40 long and 55) So, suggestions please!. Thankyou very much. |

I have an angel in my 55g. She is a good girl. She just stares at you like "When are you gonna feed me??". Funny ![]() I would just have one though...because I got another angel about 2 weeks ago and they fought. I never saw it, but my angels fins were torn. The other one died, I think because of stress...it was extremely stressed when I got it so the fight (if there was one) didn't help. edit: I wish I had a cat. I love everyone's pictures of their cats staring at their tanks. So funny! I want a cat just for that. I would plant it pretty well. My angel likes to hide. I am just now getting my tank planted better...I have lots of algae and alot of my plants have died...so she is alot more scared now since she can't hide as well. I have a picture of my angel in the photo booth..if you want to see her. ![]() |

How about this: figure out which size you can afford and then decide on how you would like to stock it. This way you save yourself some headaches about all these "what could have been" issues. And about the cat: Our cat managed to make some nice scratches in my 29G in the first week after setup ![]() Ingo ![]() |
