I'm thinking of starting a new aquarium, 20 gallons, and I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it in terms of what kind of fish I want. I could go the easy route, and do freshwater, probably some cichlids, or I could get serious and go to saltwater. I'm experienced enough to handle either, it's just a matter of who thinks what is better. You decide, k? Thanks.

I would like to reply to you posting but I am sorry to say I cannot read it because of your colour choice.

I have had both FW & SW over the years.

Cichlid

Some of the smaller shell dwellers .

Depends of course on what's in your area.

I would say go with something you haven't tried before. Shellies or apistos would be nice, you could have a pair of kribs, or do a killie tank. I like the clownfish idea, if you're ready for saltwater. Or have you thought about a brackish tank?

The choices are:

Freshwater - Tropical
Freshwater - Cichlid
Saltwater - General Marine
Saltwater - Reef

in order so you can see which bar is what.

I vote for SW General

It's only a 20, so I'd say skip salt for now and go with something lovely and fascinating, like shelldwellers or apistos. The next tank can be big and salty, perhaps.
