Growing Algae? | |

Has anyone grown your own algae? Did you find this to be dificult? I put aquarium water in there plus some rocks. In about a week i had alot of algae to feed my fish. It is very easy. |

Babelfish Administrator Small Fry with Ketchup Posts: 6833 Kudos: 8324 Votes: 1570 Registered: 17-Apr-2003 | Depending on how cool it's getting, and more importantly how strong and long the sunlight lasts you may see a slowdown in algae growth. I'd suggest using smoother rocks. If you're putting them in for the fish to nibble the algae off of you wouldnt want to use something with sharp edges which might injure their mouths. Of course you'll want to check that the rocks wont alter your PH as well. ^_^ |

clownloachfan Fish Addict Posts: 660 Kudos: 850 Votes: 115 Registered: 10-Oct-2003 | Do you have a spare tank and a light. Just put the rocks in the water and leave the light on for almost all day(when you wake up to when you go to bed) or 24 hours. This will really grow some algae. |
